Evaluation versions of SecureGSM™ SP and SecureGSM™ Pro are available for free download to enable potential purchasers of SecureGSM™ SP to test and evaluate the software.
Note: Evaluation prodicts are limited to outgoing SecureGSM calls for some handsets which are not completely CSD compliant, due to shortcomings in the handset firmware. To check whether your handset has such a limitation, please use the Product Compatibility Selector to choose your phone and verify whether the Professional Installation option is required. If Professional Installation is required, then that handset is not completely CSD compliant and is incapable of receiving SecureGSM calls until compatible SecureGSM firmware is installed and this limitation is removed.
There are some differences between Evaluation versions and Full versions, which are as follows:
Low encryption
The encryption offered on Evaluation versions is a single cipher with substantially lower strength and easy to decrypt.
Absence of Diffie-Hellman public key infrastructure.
Private keys are hard-coded into the application, thus the public key infrastructure is not present.

The following are parts of the stream cipher used in SecureGSM™ SP Evaluation responsible for encryption and decryption.
Note: This cipher is based on an extremely weak algorithm and therefore intended to be used for evaluation purposes only.
Apart from the limited security, Evaluation versions are fully functioning software products with exactly the same core engines as full versions. Upon purchase of SecureGSM™ SP or SecureGSM™ Pro, you will not notice any difference in functionality or audio quality.
Important Notes:
Please make sure that the handset receiving SecureGSM calls in your trial does not have the above CSD limitation.
Evaluation versions and full versions are not compatible to each other, due to the differences in security implementations.
Both SecureGSM™ SP Evaluation (for Windows Mobile Smartphone) and SecureGSM™ Pro Evaluation (For Windows Mobile Communicators) are interoperable with each other.
We encourage you to download the Evaluation version to test, among other things:
- Compatibility with your handset.
- Compatibility with your handset settings.
- Compatibility with your service provider's network
- Ensure you are satisfied with the voice quality
- Ensure you are satisfied with the functionality of SecureGSM Products.
Please note that you are free to use Evaluation versions for as long as you like, however be aware that these versions do not provide any substantial level of protection.
