SecureGSM™ SP uses your carrier’s DATA CALL (CSD) line functionality. To use this service you will need to ask your service provider to enable it for you. Your provider will also give you a DATA TERMINATING NUMBER to make and receive DATA CALLS. Note: The DATA CALL service must be enabled on both ends for SecureGSM™ SP to function. CSD Line Type settings: Several CSD Line Type settings will be available to you, depending on the device you are using. SecureGSM™ SP can operate using either the v.110 or v.32 CSD Line Type Data rate setting. We recommend using the v.110 setting when calling to other mobile handsets. Using the v.110 setting ensures that the connection time between handsets is established as quickly as possible, as well as providing a better successful call connection ratio. When calling to SecureGSM™ DT* landline client, a v.32 setting must be used, as the PSTN network does not support the v.110 connection type. On first launch, SecureGSM™ SP will set the Line Type Data rate setting on your device to v.110. Note: Some carrier's internal settings prevent the correct operation of v.110. If you experience difficulties with connection, you should switch to v.32. When using v.32 you should expect an increase in the time your device takes to connect (modem handshake) which can be up to 20 seconds before the key exchange procedure begins. You will also need to ensure your connection element is set to Non-transparent. On first launch, SecureGSM™ SP will enable this setting for you. To access the CSD Line Type settings, press [Start] choose "Settings", navigate to "CSD Line Type" in the menu and press (ok). Note: A device Power Cycle is required when changing from v.110 to v.32 for the new settings to become effective on your device. *Currently in development. |
